Cooling Towers

Industrial Equipment Cooling Towers

Baltimore Aircoil Company (BAC) provides high quality plant cooling water with factory assembled cooling towers and closed circuit cooling towers for all types of cooling system processes.  Typical cooling system process applications include:

  • Plastic injection molding cooling systems
  • Aluminum extrusion cooling systems
  • Air compressor cooling systems
  • Aluminum anodizing cooling systems
  • Hydraulic cooling systems
  • Heat treating
  • Welder cooling plating
  • Die casting
  • Mold cooling systems
  • Mechanical refrigeration

Industrial cooling systems applications often require optional construction features offered by Baltimore Aircoil, such as stainless steel construction, high temperature fill and BaltiBond protective coating.

HVAC Equipment Cooling Towers

Cooling Tower

Baltimore Aircoil Company (BAC), provides world class evaporative cooling systems equipment, parts and service in West Michigan. BAC specializes in the design and manufacture of evaporative cooling and heat transfer equipment. The superior quality and performance advantages of Baltimore Aircoil cooling systems products are the result of a continuing research and development program and years of engineering expertise.

Specifically, Baltimore Aircoil manufactures the following products which can be used in HVAC applications: cooling towers, closed circuit cooling towers (fluid coolers), evaporative condensers and ice thermal storage systems.

Cooling Towers

Cooling towers use an environmentally compatible evaporative cooling systems process to produce significantly lower water temperatures than achievable with air-cooled equipment for maximum energy savings and operating efficiency in recycled cooling water systems. The following models are available from Baltimore Aircoil:

  • Series 1500 (146 to 428 nominal tons)
  • Series 3000 (240 to 1301 nominal tons)
  • FXT (6 to 536 nominal tons)
  • Series V (12 to 1335 nominal tons)
  • Low Profile Series V (16 to 272 nominal tons)

All cells can be combined in multiple cell arrangements for large capacity projects.

Closed Circuit Cooling Systems

Morrison Cooling Tower System

Closed Circuit Cooling Tower Systems use a clean closed loop in a highly efficient evaporative heat transfer process to cool water and other process fluids while isolating the cooling systems fluid from the outside airstream. The following models are available from Baltimore Aircoil through our West Michigan distributors:

  • FXV Closed Circuit Cooling Tower (47 to 2400 GPM per cell)
  • Series V Closed Circuit Cooling Tower (17 to 3120 GPM per cell)
  • Low Profile Series V Closed Circuit Cooling Tower (22 to 1020 GPM per cell)
  • HXV Closed Circuit Hybrid Cooling Tower (an innovative design which allows for three modes of operation: dry/wet, adiabatic, and dry – these three modes combine to attenuate plume while maximizing water and energy savings).

All of Baltimore Aircoil’s closed circuit towers are available with coil options with respect to materials (copper, stainless steel, other) and cooling systems configurations (ASME and extended surface fins).

Evaporative Condensers

Evaporative condenser (cooling refrigerant or ammonia) offer energy savings by providing lower system horsepower than conventional air-cooled and water-cooled condensing systems. The following models are available from Baltimore Aircoil through our West Michigan distributors:

  • CXV Evaporative Condenser (64 to 1888 nominal ammonia tons)
  • Series V Evaporative Condenser (up to 1608 nominal tons with centrifugal fans and up to 1914 nominal tons with multi-stage axial fans)
  • Low Profile Series V (16 to 299 nominal tons).

All of Baltimore Aircoil’s evaporative condensers are available with coil options with respect to materials (copper, stainless steel, other) and cooling systems configurations (ASME and extended surface fins).

Ice Thermal Storage Systems

Cooling Towers

Ice Thermal Storage Systems store cooling while shifting energy use, dramatically reducing first cost and operating cost. More than 2600 ice storage systems operate with equipment developed, designed, and manufactured by Baltimore Aircoil Company. Local West Michigan installations include Forest Hills Eastern High School, Kenowa Hills High School, Resurrection Life Church, Central Wesleyan Church and Wolverine Power in West Michigan.

The Modular ICE CHILLER Thermal Storage Unit is a cost-effective ice on coil unit that can be applied on new or retrofit applications to provide the lowest temperature supply fluid for maximum system efficiency. Baltimore Aircoil manufactures four standard sizes: the TSU-237M (237 ton-hrs of storage), TSU-476M (476 ton-hrs of storage), TSU-594M (594 ton-hrs of storage) and the TSU-761M (761 ton-hrs of storage). Multiple TSU’s can be provided and piped together on larger projects.
