AbsolutAire units are often applied on industrial facilities to provide make-up air, heating and sometimes cooling and humidity control.  Additionally, specially equipped AbsolutAire units are capable of heat recovery from low temperature sources of heat, such as cooling tower systems.  On many applications, the additional cost of the heat recovery equipment is paid back in gas savings in as little as one year.

Located in Kalamazoo, MI, AbsolutAire provides a high quality, locally manufactured, horizontal and vertical direct fired make-up air unit from 750 to 150,000 CFM. They also manufacture custom air handling units with or with-out direct fired gas heating. A summary of their specific products follows:

The V Series

The V Series is about delivering value. It is offered in 5 different sizes from 800 to 13,000 CFM. It is only available in a horizontal configuration and as a 100% fresh air unit. The air can be heated with direct fired natural gas and/or cooled with DX, chilled water or evaporative cooling.

The AA Series

The AA Series is offered in both a horizontal and vertical configuration with heating capacities from 200 to 6000 MBH and airflow capacities from 800 to 50,000 CFM. It can be provided as a 100% fresh air unit or as a return air unit. Three variations of return air models are available. Each is designed to operate with a minimum of 20% outside air re-circulating a certain amount of return air. Recirculation helps to conserve energy by re-heating warmer building air. The three return air models available are:

• M Option – These units are capable of modulating 20% and 100% outside air and 80% to 0% return air.
• B Option – These units are two position OA/RA units that can be either in 100% OA mode or in a 20% OA / 80% RA mode.
• F Option – These units are designed for full time air rotation. A two position damper is used on the outside air inlet only. The RA opening is fixed and is not equipped with a damper.

The R Series

The R Series from AAI, is the heart and soul of AAI’s extensive line of direct fired gas systems. It is often “the best available technology, pure and simple”. The R Series offers an outstanding choice of models, with capacities to 17,000 MBH and 150,000 CFM and with an attractive range of standard and optional features. Two styles of cabinet construction are available – R300 and R400. Both are offered in horizontal and vertical configurations for installation flexibility. With both the lower cost R300 model and the more robust R400 model, the R Series is also offered as a 100% fresh air unit and the three different return air models as described above for the AA series.

The S Series

The S Series air handling unit utilizes an advanced modular design approach to offer optimum application flexibility for industrial heating, ventilating and make-up air as well as total environmental control with a wide range of operational options matched to user needs. Heat generation options include: direct and indirect gas fired burners, steam, hot water and electric coils. Cooling / dehumidification options include chilled water and DX coils. There are many humidification, filtration and fan options as well. Units can be provided complete with factory mounted controls and electrical.

Ten different cabinet sizes are available from 8000 to 80,000 CFM. Each unit is backed by AAI’s two year parts warranty and 90 days labor warranty.
